Nursery times two

Steven is in heaven prepping and designing not one but two nurseries! Check out our baby's future rooms in Brooklyn and Jersey. Don't worry - the blue carpet in the beach house is being replaced by something more gender neutral.

Gender Confusion (not ours!)

So our friend who is just a week ahead of me pregnancy-wise found out she was having a girl right before we did. They picked out a girly name, girly clothes, toys, etc. Two sonograms later - in two different countries no less - the same consensus was reached. Girl baby. Then, during sonogram #3 I imagine there was a moment of silence as the anatomy became clear to everyone in the room. Their girl baby is a BOY.

Occasionally these things happen (though hopefully not to us! remember how hard it was for us to get over the gender confusion when it happened with our cat Pixel??) so you may want to save your receipts and leave the tags on any girly gifts just in case!

It's official

I'm pregnant. Five and a half months, that is. A woman offered me her seat on a packed subway car during rush hour.

For those of you who haven't seen me in a while, understand that if a complete stranger offers up a coveted seat, you can bet I'm showing.

20 Weeks In The Making! (a daddy posting)

On January 2, we found out that we will be having a girl! Just as everyone predicted, well except for one. You know who you are. We were very excited to hear the news. The funny thing is that we found out in the first 10 seconds of our twenty week ultrasound, but the test went on for another 3 hours because our girl was very uncooperative and wouldn't turn over. The doctors needed to see her entire body. Once they did they gave us the good news that everything was going just great. I have posted two of the ultrasound photos. The top photo is our girl's feet! The bottom photo is another scan of her head facing up. "What a beautiful profile", the doctor said once again just like at our last visit. This time he included "a beautiful brain". We have very high hopes for this little girl...

GIRL PARTS

I can't believe it, but the consensus was right - we're having a baby girl! I was sure it was going to be a boy, mostly because all you novice predictors were so sure of yourselves, but hey, you were right. Now before you go crazy buying everything in girlie pink, just keep in mind that this is a future self-defense, martial arts, pilates, and yoga master - at least that's what it feels like when she's somersaulting and karate chopping inside my belly.

We're so excited, and would be this excited if we were greeting a little boy, but now that we know she's a girl the reality is starting to sink in. We're going to have a daughter. Crazy, and great.
