Emma doesn't just play in the playground - she works out. Here's Em dangling from the rings (in between time spent on the swing and slide) and chomping on a mug with her picture on it. She was inhaling coffee fumes like a maniac. Should we be concerned?

Emma has a secret...
TOOTH!!!!
A few days ago Emma was fussier than usual and not eating very well - a sure sign that something was wrong. This kid loves to eat, pretty much anything. Steven noticed a little slit in her bottom gum and the drool was pouring out of her mouth. FINALLY after months of people saying, "oh she must be teething" she actually was! It took eight, nearly nine months, but our baby is getting her first tooth. You still can't see much, but Steven and I can feel something very sharp poking through. In a few days maybe we'll have a picture for you, but until then, enjoy this cute sleeping smile from June. A lot has changed since then!

She's back!
Back by popular demand, more pictures of Emma! Sorry it took so long, but croup turned into a cold that attacked the whole family and we've finally just recovered. Here is a sampling of the nugget in various poses.
Emma is thinking, "What the heck happened to my hair?" But we think it's pretty cute.

New Year's Eve baby, so sweet.

Opening up one of her favorite Chanukah presents, her shopping cart from aunt Lisa and uncle John.

Emma eats a pear! Well, tries to anyway. She prefers her pears cooked and mushed.

Croup, there it is
Poor Emma has the croup! But you wouldn't know from this photo taken during the second night of Chanukah. Unfortunately only a few hours later she was barking like a seal and quite miserable. We took her to the doctor today and our thoughts of croup were confirmed, but it hasn't gotten her down. Here are a few pictures of her playing happily with some of her favorite animals. We'll see how tonight goes... wish us luck!

Croup can't get me down!

Dreidel time!
Emma celebrates her first Chanukah by attempting to eat a menorah and a dreidel since she's too young to digest a pile of greasy potato latkes. We had lots of fun going through my Jewish holiday bins that my mother collected over the years. Thanks to Emma's Grandma Susan we have enough candles to light a dozen menorahs for several decades, not to mention lots of Chanukah kitsch like crystal dreidels and talking bears with yarmulkas.
Check out this hysterical montage of Steven and Emma enjoying themselves (if you ask me, Steven is enjoying himself a little too much!)
